I remember meeting Molly & Frazer for a coffee when they booked and they chatted about everything they hoped their wedding would be and I just knew it would be an amazing celebration - very personal, super chilled and just full of fun, and well, that’s exactly what it was! Frazer loves orange and in honour of this you’ll see it running through the details - his tie, his socks (many of his friends also donned orange socks!) even some of the smoke bombs we used in the evening. The awesome tables and chairs were from Anthology Vintage Hire, but many of the other decorations you’ll see were made by Frazer himself, including all of the signage, the copper frame to hang the polaroids from, the donut wall and those incredible LOVE letters! Isn’t he clever!! Molly thought outside the box and chose a stunning dip dye dress by Lucy Can’t Dance which totally complimented her stunning hair! The guests enjoyed amazingly good grub by Weirdough Pizza & I’ll Bring Dessert and they were kept refreshed by the always fabulous guys from Duck & Pheasant with their gorgeous horse box bar! Supplier dream team was finished off with music by Fox and Braces who kicked off the party with absolute finesse! What a couple and what a day! A gorgeous botanical inspired spring barn wedding with bridesmaids in sage green. Evening fire pit with furs and marshmallow snacks. Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer

Naomi & Will chose the always stunning Granary Estates in Woodditton for their wedding celebrations. I adore this venue and you’ll see why when you start to scroll the photographs - its rustic charm with a modern twist is venue perfection! On the day it was raining when we arrived but that certainly didn’t dampen anybody’s morning and, by the time the ceremony rolled around, the rain had done the decent thing and cleared up! The decor was simply divine with tonnes of greenery including the most adorable table plan made up of potted plants (totally ‘Pinable’!) and beautiful signage and stationery by the very talented Bewilderly. After the ceremony we took the newlyweds off for a bit of portraiture which Naomi and Will grinned like Cheshire Cats the whole way through. Speeches were so good and very emotional with all the laughs and tears you’d want and we nipped back out in the evening light for a few more, relaxed (tipsy!) portraits before Naomi & Will hit the dance floor complete with Granary Estates famous confetti cannon! What a day guys, I’m so thrilled I could document it for you! Here’s what they had to say….

“Thank you so much for sending the photos over, they are so lovely! Even more amazing than we thought they would be, if that’s even possible?! We must have watched the highlights slideshow about 10 times already! We honestly are so happy with them and cannot wait to fill our house with all the happy memories from the day”.

An awesome wedding made even better by working with these amazing suppliers - you all rock!

Kate and Jof lucked out with their big day as it fell on the mini heatwave we had over Easter weekend So Gate Street Barn was looking all kinds of fabulous in under clear blue Spring skies! Though to be fair, Kate and Jof did such an awesome job with choosing the decor, it would’ve looked incredible no matter what the weather was doing! With gorgeous on trend foliage filling the venue and simple yet oh so elegant table settings, this wedding ready is a dream! Little touches like the favours of olive oil, hand picked by the couple at Kate’s Dad’s house in France, finished off the look to perfection. After the wonderful ceremony, I took the newlyweds off for a walk around the grounds of Gate Street Barn, where we lucked out with a Bluebell carpeted wood (even if I did step straight into a bog trying to get to it - with open toe sandals on!!) and the resident cows came over to say Hi! The guest enjoyed delicious canapés and drinks in the gardens whilst we cracked on with a few group shots before everyone headed into the barn for dinner, followed by some top notch speeches! We finished up with a few bonus sunset portraits in the driveway before Entree got the party started! Thanks to Kate and Jof for having me along, it really was a pleasure to document your stunning wedding!

Spring has been pretty full on with documenting my client’s lives and weddings so I’ve had to bow out of the last couple of months, I’ve missed it!! We’ve had a mixed bag of weather but have had a few adventures of our own! We stayed at Alton Towers (one of the UK’s largest theme parks - not a patch on any in the US but still a lot of fun!) for a couple of days, we’ve attended several events that our little village holds annually, we’ve managed to get to the beach once already and the girls have made the most of our longer evenings and dancing on the deck in the garden (I love that they still do this - I’ve got photos of them dancing on the deck when they were little tots!). Anyway, I digress! I’m so happy to be a part of this fabulous blog group again, and I thoroughly recommend you head over to the fabulous Evelyne Lourenco and check out what the past month has looked like for this uber talented group of photographers!!

Spring Pinks for a Rustic, Beatles inspired Barn wedding at The Channels Estate.

Stacey & Ashley were wed in April and they chose the gorgeous Channels Estate near Chelmsford, Essex as their venue. Stacey had her heart set on an outdoor ceremony as Channels is set up beautifully for this, and, though it rained during morning prep, it cleared up in time for everything to work out as planned and cuddled up in blankets provided by the thoughtful bride, the guests enjoyed a very emotional ceremony with vows written by both the Bride and Groom.

After the ceremony (and a glass of champers!) we headed out into the grounds to take a few portraits!

Stacey & Ashley love to party hard, and that really came across during the speeches, which were everything you’d hope for, emotional, hilarious and, to get the party going, each guest was given a shot once the speeches were over! They’d also booked an incredible 5 piece brass band as a surprise, who made their entrance half way through the First Dance and the party really did ramp up then! These guys know how to hit the dance floor! I topped the night off with Ashley and his boys in the garden whilst they enjoyed cigars, something of a tradition for them and his mates couldn’t help themselves but give him a friendly throw in the air to finish things off!

Lucy & Adam (& Nora the cat!). A Winter wedding with Bridesmaids in Hunter Green, Groomsmen in Navy and Winter Meadow Wildflowers.

Hunter Greens and Navy Blues for a Winter Wedding. Bride & Groom include their cat!

January I think gets overlooked for a wedding! My lovely hubby and I got married in January and yeah, it was cold but we had the most glorious, crisp, winters day and embraced the best parts of Winter! Lucy and Adam had the same idea, also wanting to tie in the date with the birthday of Lucy’s late Mum so they would feel close to her on the day. Such a beautiful tribute don’t you think? They’d also told me plenty about their beloved rescue cat Nora and they really wanted to include her in the day, which, being a fellow feline lover, I was thrilled about and we made sure to stop off at their home after their gorgeous church ceremony to take some portraits with their fur baby.

The couple had chosen a golf club close by to hold their reception and they’d really thrown their personalities and favourite things into the details! Each table represented something different and they’d laid out hats, masks and all kinds of thoughtful gifts for their guests!

After very emotional speeches (and a hilarious slide show by the best man!), these guys didn't hesitate to hit the dance floor! Such a fun, happy wedding to document and I think you’ll agree, January looks gorgeous on Lucy & Adam!

It’s been a lovely start to the year, I’ve had just a handful of weddings to keep me out of trouble, Ava turned 12 and we had some extremely unseasonably warm weather - it felt more like late Spring, so we took advantage and headed to the coast where we ate fish and chips, played the penny slots and walked the longest pier in the world (that wasn't without quite a bit of complaining though!). The weather is back to grey and cold now though but Spring doesn't feel far away!

To follow our awesome blog circle, first head on over to the lovely Kristi Burton to see what her month looked like!

Nathalie & Kieron, An Autumn Barn Wedding at The Granary Estates. Champagne Golds and Greenery with Groom in Navy Check.

Autumn Barn wedding at The Granary Estates. Champagne Golds and simple Greenery.

Having shot an Autumn wedding at The Granary Estates before, when Nathalie and Kieron first told me about their plans, I was really excited and knew their wedding would be a beauty! Nathalie chose an exquisite gown by Pronovias and they kept their colours simple with some stunning greenery - the flint barn itself needing not a lot of dressing up to make it beautiful. Kieron had his suit handmade and chose a navy check - which worked perfectly with their colour scheme. Talented Kieron also made the very cool neon sign for their guests to take selfies with!

The ceremony took place just as the afternoon sun was beginning to set and filled the room with the most stunning light, which, we then took advantage of straight away by taking their portraits as it slipped over the horizon - I think it was one of the best Autumn sunsets I’ve ever shot in - magical!

After dinner, came some really wonderful, moving and hilarious speeches and then we shot outside (with some of the braver guests!) to do a sparkler tunnel! Nathalie and Kieron chose to have one of The Granary Estates fabulous confetti canons during their first dance and then their guests hit the dance floor where I’m sure they partied the night away long after I left them to it! Mr and Mrs Bates, it was an absolute pleasure to document your stunning wedding, thank. you so much for letting me be a part of it!
